1. About SII
Established in August 2007 with the approval of China’s Ministry of Education, Surrey International Institute (SII) is a Sino-UK cooperative educational institution jointly founded by Dongbei University of Finance & Economics (DUFE) and the University of Surrey (UoS). Committed to the fundamental task of fostering virtue through education, SII has forged a distinctive path of integrated development, achieving excellence in teaching, faculty development, and research.
SII has successfully passed the National Evaluation of Pilot Chinese-Foreign Cooperatively-run Schools, obtained Quality Accreditation administered by the China Education Association for International Exchange, and received full approval from the Ministry of Education for its degree-granting authority. Our undergraduate programs were featured among the 10+2 classic cases of tourism-education excellence by the China Tourism Academy; the Institute won the title of Outstanding Sino-Foreign Cooperative Institution in 2024 and, most recently, the title of Distinguished Sino-Foreign Cooperative Institution 2025.
