I. Welcome to the School of International Education (SIE)

Established in 1988, the School of International Education (SIE) at DUFE—evolved from the former Chinese Language Training Department and International Chinese Language and Culture College—serves as the central hub for international student affairs. Co-located and integrated with the International Students Office, SIE is responsible for the educational management of international students at DUFE and the development of Confucius Institutes, hosting a dedicated training base for Confucius Institute performance evaluation and financial management. To date, DUFE has successively educated nearly 15,000 long-term and short-term international students from 150 countries across Asia, Europe, the Americas, Africa, and Oceania. We offer a comprehensive academic system for international students, including undergraduate, master's, and doctoral programs (with options taught entirely in English), as well as non-degree Chinese language training programs.

II. Our Mission & Educational Model

DUFE’s international education mission supports national diplomatic ties, regional economic development, and the university’s “Double First-Class University” initiative. Leveraging its strengths in finance and economics, DUFE cultivates high-caliber, interdisciplinary international talents in finance and economics through its “Chinese Language + Professional Major” model. We are committed to enhancing the “Study at DUFE” brand by innovating curricula, strengthening faculty development, ensuring education quality, promoting cross-cultural understanding, and fostering a vibrant international campus atmosphere.

III. Accreditations & Honors

DUFE is a designated recipient institution for the Chinese Government Scholarship (CSC) and the International Chinese Language Teacher Scholarship. It is also among the first batch of demonstration bases for international student education in Liaoning Province. As one of China’s earliest HSK test centers, DUFE is further recognized as a recommended institution for the Confucius Institute Scholarship and serves as a combined test center for both the HSK (Chinese Proficiency Test) and BCT (Business Chinese Test).

Notably, in 2012, it earned the title of “Demonstration Base for International Student Education in Liaoning Province” with the highest provincial rating. Subsequently, it received the honor of “Advanced Collective in International Student Education in China” in 2014. In 2017, DUFE successfully passed the international student education quality certification by the Ministry of Education, and in 2021, it completed the final assessment for demonstration universities in international student education in Liaoning Province.

IV. Practical Learning & Campus Life

DUFE continuously innovates practical teaching models for international students and has gradually built a distinctive practical teaching system. It actively explores ways to enhance students’ “Language + Major” interdisciplinary international business capabilities, with a focus on nurturing interdisciplinary business talents who possess a global perspective and strong cross-cultural communication skills.

Beyond organizing annual cross-provincial language practice activities, the university also hosts diverse experiences: rural field trips, enterprise visits, recreational sports meets, Chinese speech contests, talent shows, calligraphy, painting, and photography exhibitions, as well as teacher-student gatherings for New Year’s Eve and Spring Festival celebrations.

The university also offers a modern, multi-functional learning and living space—equipped with study, living, and leisure facilities—that integrates daily life and academic needs, ensuring a comfortable and enriching experience for international students.
